As the world turns.....

SO.....it has been a couple of years since I last posted.  A TON has happened since then.  BIG things like a F5 tornado destroyed my beautiful classroom.  (sad face)  While our building is being rebuilt my school is being housed at a nearby church.  Emmaus Baptist Church has been ever so nice to allow us the use of their beautiful building for the year.  It has been 6 months since the tragedy and it is hard to believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving.  What a long road it has been with my teacher buddies and I. It is great to say that we have made it, and continue to make it each new day in our different environment.  I have a class full of 17 2nd graders and a wonderful student teacher.  Ashlee has been with me since day one.  It will be difficult for me when she leaves in December.  I have grown so fond of her!  But as the world turns, life goes on and it is time for her to spread her teacher wings and fly, haha.  She will be a great asset to any school!  I will post pictures of my new classroom soon!  I will also be posting post tornado pictures also.

The calm before the storm....

Well, Friday's weather was b-u-TIFUL!!!! I think my class agreed since their behavior was out of control!  Saturday was just as pretty and Eddie and I went downtown to Renovation Station to get some more things for me to work on!  We then drove around and took in some sights.  Oh how I love downtown OKC. So fun!  Today I have been crafting again!  I forgot that I finished my wreath for my room yesterday before 11:00. Here is a picture of it! 

It took a whole lot longer to make then expected, but I think it turned out nice.  I also used my cricut and some paint and made the sign that is above it.

Today I worked on a tshirt with roses.  Here it is!

Sorry it is hard to see. I made about ten roses and then sewed them by hand onto the shirt.

Now I am sitting and watching tv.  The weather is again supposed to be nasty on Tuesday.  I hope we don't miss school!!

There's No Day like a Snow Day

Well today was our first snow day of this school year!  I had mixed emotions about whether I wanted to miss school or get an extra day of in February.  Now that the day is winding down, I am glad that I had a day to be lazy.
     I decided to work on several crafts that I had been wanting to make.  The first one being a magnetic memo board to hang in my kitchen.  It was a fast project that I now adore!
